Job Summary

Responsible for processing parts through electroplating solutions. Responsibilities include loading, unloading, drying, and visually inspecting parts.

Job Responsibilities

  • Engage in cleaning, racking, plating, and polishing of metallic objects.
  • Selects equipment, such as hooks, tumbler baskets, plating barrels, and racks according to quantity, size and type of objects to be plated.
  • Verifies types of plating metals, solutions, lengths of immersion period, and amount of electrical current flowing through solutions, following plating specifications.
  • Fills tumbler baskets with parts to be plated on a holding fixture and lowers materials into plating tank.
  • Performs calculations to determine duration of parts to remain in baths.
  • Removes parts when process is completed.
  • Ability to process parts on variety of different plating lines.
  • Immerses materials in leaching or cleaning solution preparatory to plating.
  • Protect themselves and their co-workers by adhering to all company safety & health policies.
  • Identify hazards in the workplace and report them to management and/or safety coordinator.
  • Must work with the EHS department to ensure all local, state, and federal regulatory agencies requirements are met; OSHA, NFPA, DNR, EPA and Amphenol sustainability practices.
  • Must work with the Quality department to ensure all quality standards are met for AS9100 certification.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Education: High school diploma or GED; or

Experience: 1 to 3 months in similar position

Other: Passage of appropriate testing to advance in ABC certification program.

Physical: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently, 50 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, stooping, twist, reach, reach overhead.

Shift : First shift (Monday-Friday 6:00am-2:30pm)

Knowledge:

Chemistry - Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.

English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Public Safety and Security - Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.

Skills:

Arm-Hand Steadiness - The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.

Control Precision - The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.

Manual Dexterity - The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.

Multi-limb Coordination - The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.

Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).

Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
