Reports to: Marina General Manager/Assistant General Manager/Project Lead
The Laborer's job is to perform any combination of essential duties and responsibilities of Marina's Maintenance and dock construction.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Performs construction of marinas by installing floating docks in the water at the job site per blueprint specifications and per direction of Management
Operates equipment and machinery in a knowledgeable, safe, and effective manner
Follows and applies safety rules and techniques
Reports any problems with construction duties to Management
May operate forklift safely and efficiently in confined areas
Uses hardware, such as bolts, washers, rods, lumber, and uses necessary hand tools
Must be able to measure, cut, and fit materials to precise dimensions with a verity of different processes
Must be able to meet physical requirements (see below)
Perform other duties as assigned or apparent
Must be comfortable working at elevated heights
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
Act with the highest level of integrity and maintain a positive attitude
High school diploma or GED required
Valid drivers license required
Prior construction experience and experience working with heavy equipment preferred
Basic mechanical and construction knowledge and skills
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to multitask
Must be able and willing to work in all types of weather conditions
Must be friendly to all customers and team members
Maintain a thorough understanding of all marina operations to be able to assist at all times
Adaptable to work composed of a variety of different tasks
Ability to manage multiple projects at a time despite interruptions
Ability to make independent decisions and determine the appropriate course of action
Professional conduct and excellent interpersonal and communication skills with team members, customers, tenants, vendors, and government personnel
Strong work ethic and personal commitment
Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department, and company goals
Ability to be a self-starter and work independently
Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work
Must have availability to be on call for emergency scenarios after normal hours of operation
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift or carry miscellaneous equipment, supplies, and parts up to 100 lbs. unassisted
Ability to push, pull, bend, or stand for long periods of time as well as climb ladders that have capacity limits of 300 lbs
Work around water
Work at heights of up to 30 feet
Work in tight spaces
Stand, walk, sit, bend, kneel, squat, crawl, reach, grasp
