Salary: $13.75 - $14.50 HourlyLocation : Republic, MOJob Type: Part-Time TemporaryJob Number: 04152025-1Department: Parks & RecreationDivision: Parks MaintenanceOpening Date: 04/15/2025Closing Date: ContinuousFLSA: Non-ExemptFLSA Status: Non-ExemptJob Type: Part Time Temporary DescriptionPrimary PurposeAssists in the ground's maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep, of city parks, greenway areas, City-owned landscaped areas, and the grounds surrounding municipal facilities including park restrooms.SupervisionUnder the direct supervision of the Assistant Parks Maintenance Superintendent and general daily supervision of the Lead Park & Grounds Worker.Essential Duties & Responsibilities Works as a member of a crew to perform the general beautification, cleaning, upkeep, and maintenance of city parks, greenway areas, city owned landscaped areas, and the grounds surrounding municipal buildings inclusive of trimming, mowing, tree care, landscaping, trash removal, cleaning etc.Assists Parks and Recreation Department during times of special events.Operates weed eaters and other equipment in a manner consistent with safety principles.Maintains, cleans, and repairs weed trimmers and other equipment to keep them in good working order.Deals effectively and courteously with fellow employees and the public.Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.Important DutiesMaintains appropriate supplies for assigned area.Maintains neat and orderly work area. Minimum QualificationsKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesGeneral knowledge of landscaping, grass, and tree care. Organizational/planning skills. Verbal and written communication skills. Basic Computer skills. Ability to troubleshoot, modify, and maintain maintenance equipment. Must be able to memorize and retain information. Must have good time management skills. Must have good cognitive and analytical skills. Must be able to handle stressful situations. Must be able to quickly judge and assess situations. Must be able to make decisions under pressure in areas of responsibility.
