Job Summary
Are you a seasoned HR professional with a passion for employee experience, benefits administration, and organizational growth? Join our collaborative HR team as a Benefits Program Manager, where you'll play a key role in shaping our workplace culture and supporting our most valuable asset - our people.
In this role, you'll lead benefits program management, as well as critical HR functions such as employee relations, compliance, and process improvement. About half of your time will be spent focusing on managing our robust benefit programs. The other half of the time, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees alike, guiding performance, engagement, and development initiatives while ensuring our policies align with both best practices and legal requirements. Responsibilities
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, FSA, FMLA, and 401(k), overseeing open enrollment, vendor partnerships, and employee communications.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for benefits-related inquiries, claims resolution, eligibility, compliance, audits, and reporting.
- Ensure day-to-day HR operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including EEO, FMLA, and ADA accommodations.
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on employee relations matters, including performance management, coaching, and progressive discipline documentation.
- Conduct internal investigations, mediate workplace conflicts, and recommend appropriate resolutions to support a positive and compliant work environment.
- Support the planning and implementation of employee engagement, retention, and learning and development initiatives.
- Assist in the coordination and execution of the intern program and other employee development programs.
- Maintain and update HR policies and procedures to promote organizational consistency and legal compliance.
- Collaborate with Payroll and Finance to support accurate processing of compensation, benefits, and reporting needs; serve as payroll back-up when needed.
- Mentor the HR Generalist and support the professional development of HR team members through leadership, collaboration, and shared accountability for department goals.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Professional certifications such as PHR or SHRM-CP are preferred.
- Benefits-specific certification (e.g., CEBS, CBP) preferred.
Experience
- 4 - 6 years of progressive Human Resources experience, with demonstrated focus in benefits administration, employee relations, and full employee lifecycle management.
- Prior experience supporting HR compliance initiatives and internal investigations preferred.
- Experience mentoring or coaching other HR team members is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of HR policies, employment laws, and best practices across benefits, employee relations, and compliance.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively advise, influence, and build trust with employees and leaders at all levels.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and attention to detail.
- High level of discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential information.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems; experience with UKG is a plus.
