Job Summary:

The Grants Specialist applies project management principles to support the grant lifecycle, including drafting applications, providing implementation support, and generating reports. The individual also ensures integrity in grant implementation and prioritizes monitoring, evaluation, and learning. Recognizing that every grant funding opportunity comes to an end, the Grants Specialist also collaborates across the organization to integrate sustainability planning into every grant-funded project.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Applies project management principles to support the organization's grants program during the pre- and post-award process.
    Supports the grant application process, including drafting grant narrative and compiling required documentation for grant applications in a timely manner for leadership review and approval.
  2. Supports grant contract execution, ensuring alignment of stated activities and requirements with organizational capacity and with relevant regulations.
  3. Provides grant implementation support, as needed, to project directors throughout the organization - negotiating any necessary project plan changes with grantors to ensure grants are fully utilized, in compliance with the grant agreement.
  4. Supports the finance department in grant fiscal monitoring and reconciliation.
  5. Assists in the compilation of grant reports ensuring that reports are submitted in a timely manner.
  6. Assists in preparing grant closeout reports, which may include insights and recommendations, based on implementation challenges throughout the funding cycle.
  7. Responsibly follows Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens.
  8. Attains all agreed-to goals and objectives within specified time frames, as part of the Organization's overall mission.
  9. Demonstrates commitment to the broader Jordan Valley team to facilitate the Organization's ability to meet its goals and objectives.
  10. In all tasks, staff will prioritize a positive patient experience, with an emphasis on building relationships and breaking down barriers to access.
  11. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in grant writing/management, project management, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Project Management-related certification.
