Shifts available are 4x12 or 3x12 nights. The average daily census in the unit is 35 patients. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience. This position does not accept first-timers. Every other weekend work is required. Candidates must have Med/Surg experience. Experience with Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response is required. Gastrointestinal skills needed include colostomy care and feeding tube management. Genitourinary/Renal skills required include pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care. IV therapy and phlebotomy skills must include accessing ports, blood product administration, and PICC line management. Medication skills are necessary for administering heparin, insulin, and PCA. Respiratory skills needed include CPAP/BiPAP usage, high flow nasal cannula management, and tracheostomy care. Knowledge of isolation precautions and wound care is essential. Touching upon telemetry experience is vital for remote monitoring. The facility has a total of 372 staffed beds and is a level II trauma center. Interdisciplinary support includes various services such as IV teams, physical therapy, and pharmacy support. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics with varied medical diagnoses. The unit performs special procedures such as foot and leg amputations and dialysis procedures. Candidates must float within the facility or to nearby locations as needed.
