Project Executive / Senior Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Project Executive / Senior Project Manager to lead the construction, commissioning, and turnover of a large-scale data center campus with integrated solar PV, natural gas, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).

This role will oversee the full construction lifecycle, from site mobilization through energization and handover.

Ensuring that all work is executed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in complex power generation and/or mission‑critical facility builds and excel at managing EPC partners, contractors, and owner stakeholders in a dynamic project environment.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Oversight

  • Lead all construction activities for the integrated power generation and data center project from site mobilization to substantial completion.
  • Serve as the owner's representative, ensuring adherence to design, safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives.
  • Oversee general contractor and EPC partner performance, ensuring contract compliance and proactive issue resolution.
  • Monitor field progress, conduct site reviews, and lead weekly construction coordination and safety meetings.
  • Ensure all civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical work meets project specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee installation of major systems, including solar arrays, gas generators, switchgear, transformers, and battery systems, ensuring safe commissioning and interconnection.

Project Controls & Commercial Management

  • Manage project schedule, budget, change orders, and risk registers; maintain accurate forecasting and reporting.
  • Drive alignment across EPC, subcontractors, and internal project controls to maintain transparency and accountability.
  • Review and approve pay applications, progress billings, and change management documentation.
  • Lead project reviews with executive leadership and key stakeholders, providing progress updates, mitigation plans, and KPIs.
  • Coordinate integrated system testing and commissioning, ensuring proper handover to operations and maintenance teams.
  • Manage punch‑list completion, performance testing, and acceptance documentation.
  • Ensure all commissioning, as‑built, and warranty documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Support startup and reliability testing for generation and data center systems prior to commercial operation.

Safety, Quality, and Compliance

  • Champion safety culture across all site activities; enforce adherence to EH&S programs and standards.
  • Ensure QA/QC procedures are followed for all trades and systems, including electrical, mechanical, and structural.
  • Coordinate inspections and compliance with all local, state, and federal authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).

Stakeholder & Team Leadership

  • Act as the primary construction interface between owners, EPCs, utilities, and contractors.
  • Communicate effectively across engineering, procurement, and operations teams.
  • Mentor junior project staff and contribute to continuous improvement of construction management processes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience managing large‑scale industrial, power generation, or mission‑critical construction projects.
  • Proven track record in data center, solar, natural gas, or battery energy storage facility execution.
  • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, safety, QA/QC, and commissioning practices.
  • Experience leading EPC, GC, and subcontractor relationships in complex, multi‑discipline environments.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6, MS Project, and project controls tools.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • PMP or equivalent certification preferred; OSHA 30 or equivalent safety credential a plus.
  • Ability to travel 25–50% as required by project location and phase.

Preferred Background

  • Experience with utility interconnection, grid‑tie, and backup power systems.
  • Familiarity with owner‑side project execution for power or data center projects.
  • Exposure to commissioning and reliability testing for mission‑critical facilities.
  • Demonstrated success managing nine‑figure EPC construction programs.

Personal Attributes

  • Results‑driven, safety‑conscious leader with strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Able to maintain control and clarity in high‑pressure, fast‑paced construction environments.
  • Collaborative and solutions‑oriented, capable of managing multiple contractors and workstreams concurrently.
