Our client, a regional provider of property and casualty insurance, is looking for a Director of Financial Systems and Treasury to join their team.The Director of Financial Systems and Treasury will serve as an important member of the financial operations leadership team. This individual will oversee the Manager of Treasury Operations, Manager of Systems and Reports, and Manager of Corporate Tax. This role is on-site in Missouri.

Responsibilities

• Directs managers and supervisors activities in the treasury, systems, and reporting and tax areas.
• Reviews and evaluates the company's operating practices related to FinOps and makes recommendations for improved efficiencies or revised procedures.
• Develops detailed proposals and recommendations for installation of new systems and enhancements to existing systems, with the goal of reducing manual processing steps using automated tasks and scheduling.
• Serves as technical resource for information services, represents FinOps on steering committees and IS prioritization meetings.
• Controls and innovates activities related to the treasury operations, including remittance processing, deposits, corporate payment methods, credit cards and account reconciliations.
• Serves as point of contact and assistant treasurer for all banking relationships.
• Oversees check printing operations in the home office and field.
• Monitors trends in payment processing fees from bank partners and card processing, reducing expenses where possible.
• Researches emerging payment methods with the goal to expand offerings to improve the customer and agent experience.
• Responsible for FinOps business resumption plans and testing.
• Evaluates services to reduce returned payments and bad debt expense.
• Provides strategic insight on short and long-term projects to improve automation and better utilize technology to enhance processes.
• Advises Vice President of Financial Operations with regard to tax matters and company projects impacting the department.
• Monitors insurance regulations and tax laws which affect FinOps and is responsible for ensuring proper compliance.
• Improves efficiency and accuracy of tax reporting through automation and external business partnerships.
• Responsible for maintaining and ensuring proper internal accounting controls for area.
• Implements and recommends Workday configuration improvements and coordinates requests for changes with the Director of Financial and Regulatory Reporting.
• Oversees and coordinates Workday financials semi-annual update testing and implementation, including up taking new features and functionality.

Requirements

• Strong leadership skills, demonstrated by 5+ years of management experience with a proven record of establishing long-term goals, providing organizational motivation and successful completion to target.
• Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
• Master's Degree in Accounting, MBA, or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• Insurance industry experience (preferred).
• Knowledge of Workday financials system and reporting or One Inc payment processor (preferred).
• Proven work experience and understanding of information technology structures and concepts, agile processes and techniques.
• Proven project management skills with a demonstrated track record of involvement with process improvements.
