Tool & Die Maker I

Tool & Die Maker I focuses on basic tasks and learning the fundamentals of the trade, working under supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Basic knowledge of machining, metalworking, and the use of standard tools like lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
• Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Basic skills in measuring and inspecting components to ensure they meet specifications.
• Familiarity with standard tool and die-making techniques, including cutting, shaping, and assembling components.
• Attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of finished parts.
• Basic problem-solving skills for identifying minor issues during the machining process.
• Must be cross-trained and able to support all Tool & Die I roles.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Requiring experience or completion of a relevant apprenticeship or technical program.
• Ability to use and accurately read measuring devices (tape measures).
• Ability to use hand tools (hammer, wrench, level, etc.).
• Ability to follow blueprints.
• Ability to read and interpret Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Ability to use a computer with basic proficiency (data entry).
