ERP Consultant II – Heartland Business Systems

Join Heartland Business Systems as an ERP Consultant II and help our clients implement and support Microsoft ERP solutions and related third‑party products.

Position Summary

This role provides business consulting, implementation, and support for Microsoft ERP solutions, leading and managing client implementations. It requires strong accounting knowledge, significant computer/technology understanding, and experience with diverse industry processes. The position also involves presales and sales opportunities and enhances brand‑building for the ERP team.

Responsibilities

  • Address business problems by gathering information, analyzing, prioritizing, and evaluating options, then architecting integrated technologies to solve those problems.
  • Train and support users of Microsoft ERP solutions and related tools, including remote work and onsite travel to clients; sometimes required to be onsite before 8 a.m. or after 5 p.m., including overnight stays.
  • Build and maintain strong, loyal, long‑term client relationships, manage implementations, guide other consultants, and act as a trusted business advisor.
  • Apply proper accounting standards in planning and design decisions related to setup, process design flows, transactional testing, and posting methodologies.
  • Develop general business and industry‑specific knowledge of innovative and best‑practice procedures to help clients identify and solve problems.
  • Lead presales discovery and presentations (demonstrations); manage proposal preparation and presentation.
  • Identify client needs and related opportunities that can be addressed through services and products offered by Heartland Business Systems.
  • Maintain current vendor/industry certifications and stay current on new products and solutions through networks of resources.
  • Model a positive team atmosphere across regional and virtual practices while maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor.
  • Maintain a minimum of 1,250 billed hours per fiscal year, balanced against professional development and presales support.

Required Experience

  • 6 years of experience working with operational accounting, product distribution and fulfillment, warehouse management, manufacturing, or other related business processes.
  • 4 years of experience providing business consulting services, supporting business systems, or implementing accounting/ERP systems.

Preferred Experience

  • 4 years of previous experience working with ERP manufacturing modules.
  • 2 years of experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Required Skills / Education / Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent work experience.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (e.g., Word templates, Excel Pivot tables, SQL queries).
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting concepts and standard bookkeeping procedures.

Preferred Skills / Education / Certifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field of study.
  • CPA and/or other relevant professional organization certifications.
