Job Description: At CoxHealth at Home, a Home Care Aide is a caring and compassionate individual who enjoys interacting with patients one-on-one in their homes. Home Care Aide assist patients with activities of daily living and are warm and friendly with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a passion for providing patients high-quality care and support. Home Care Aides are self-motivated, organized, and are able to work both independently and as part of a team.Education:
• Required: Twelve (12 hours) of classroom training and four (4 hours) of on-the-job training within thirty (30) days of first client contact.
• Required: five (5) hours of in-service training per year are required after the first twelve (12) months.
• May waive some training based on experience and adequate documentation
Experience:
• Required: One or more of the following experience:
• Minimum six (6) months paid experience as agency homemaker, home health aide, or household worker.
• Minimum one (1) year experience, paid or unpaid, in caring for children, sick or aged individuals.
• Successful completion of a formal course in basic nursing arts or nurse aide training.
Skills:
• Ability to read, write, follow directions and perform duties with minimum supervision.
• Ability to deal effectively and courteously with clients, families, and coworkers and exhibit an empathetic attitude toward the sick and elderly.
• Provision of reliable transportation and a working telephone as required by nature of position.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
• Required: Active Driver's License in the state they reside
