Community Support Specialist - Adolescent CSTAR

Location: Springfield, Mo.

Job Summary:

Community support services are designed to help those with a long-term mental illness maintain emotional and mental stability and develop a more satisfying and productive life. In this role you will have contact with each client as much as necessary to maintain mental health. The role is tasked with helping clients set individual goals and work toward accomplishing specific objectives. You will teach and assist youth substance abuse clients how to access community resources conducive to ongoing sobriety. Actively teach, practice, and model healthy interpersonal skills, problem-solving, and relapse prevention skills.

The Comprehensive Substance Treatment and Rehabilitation (CSTAR) Program provides a full continuum of care approach to substance use disorder treatment. CSTAR offers a flexible combination of clinical and supportive services. Early intervention, comprehensive treatment, academic education, and multiple levels of care are important in averting substance use disorder and resulting problems that might otherwise follow a young person for a lifetime. Designed for children 12 to 17 years in age, these programs offer the full spectrum of treatment services to Missouri's youth.

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree In: Psychology, Criminal Justice, Counseling, Social Work, Education, Recreational Therapist, Human Development and Family Studies, Gerontology, Rehabilitation Counseling, and Sociology.
  • Valid Driver's License, Current Auto Insurance, Favorable Driving Record.
  • Reliable Vehicle.
