Job Title: Maintenance Technician I

Location: Monett, Missouri

Position Summary

Maintenance Technician I - responsible for performing entry-level maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of equipment and systems within a Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) manufacturing facility. This role supports production uptime by conducting preventive maintenance, basic mechanical and electrical repairs, and assisting experienced maintenance personnel with more complex tasks. This role will also assist production when needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment including roll formers, press brakes, shears, welders, conveyors, cranes, and material handling systems.
  • Conduct basic troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Inspect equipment for proper operation and identify potential failure risks.
  • Replace worn or defective parts such as bearings, belts, motors, sensors, hoses, and fittings.
  • Assist in diagnosing equipment malfunctions and implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain and repair facility systems including lighting, compressed air systems, and building infrastructure.
  • Support installation and setup of new equipment as needed.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and work order documentation.
  • Follow all OSHA and company safety standards, including proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and production efficiency.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 0-2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and hand/power tools.
  • Ability to read basic mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a manufacturing environment (heat, noise, dust).
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical training or certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting experience (120V/240V systems).
  • Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Forklift or aerial lift certification (or ability to obtain).


Work Environment

This position operates in a manufacturing facility environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, overhead cranes, forklifts, loud noise, and varying temperatures. Proper PPE is required at all times.
