Position: OB/GYN Hospitalist & Site Director

Location: Springfield, MO

Hospitals: Cox Medical Center South & Mercy Hospital Springfield

About the Programs

Cox Medical Center South: 644-bed acute care facility with Level III NICU, MFM consults, and in-house OB anesthesia.

Mercy Hospital Springfield: Family-centered maternity care, modern birthing suites, Level III NICU, and nationally recognized for maternity excellence.

What Does an OB/GYN Hospitalist Do?

• Care for all pregnant women who present emergently

• Support private practice physicians & unassigned patients

• Deliver babies, perform surgery & assist in procedures

• Provide consultations to the ED

• Mentor residents, medical students & nurses

• Participate in safety drills, best practices & quality initiatives

• More than a lead physician, they connect national support with local hospital needs

• Oversee clinical operations and foster teamwork

• Ensure 24/7 coverage, strong leadership, and high-quality standards
