We are currently seeking a skilled Industrial HVAC Technician to support operations at one of our Springfield-based industrial facilities. This role is critical in maintaining and optimizing HVAC and mechanical systems that support manufacturing and facility operations in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.

$26 - $40 hourly DOE

This position is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of HVAC and mechanical systems, including steam and hydronic systems, within an industrial facility. The ideal candidate will have experience working in manufacturing or industrial environments, supporting production uptime and ensuring systems operate safely and efficiently.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems, steam systems, and related mechanical equipment in an industrial setting
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on rooftop units, makeup air units, exhaust systems, and steam distribution systems
• Support and maintain chilled water, hot water, and steam systems, including pumps, valves, traps, and associated components
• Inspect, repair, and replace steam traps, condensate return systems, and pressure-reducing valves (PRVs)
• Work with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and basic control systems, including BAS interfaces
• Maintain and service compressed air systems, air dryers, and supporting infrastructure
• Monitor system performance and make adjustments to ensure proper airflow, temperature control, humidity levels, and steam pressure regulation
• Respond quickly and effectively to emergency breakdowns to minimize production downtime
• Coordinate with production, maintenance, and safety teams to support facility operations
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance
• Manage and track inventory of parts, tools, and materials needed for ongoing maintenance
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and regulations, including lockout/tagout and pressure system safety

This is a safety-sensitive position.

• 5+ years of industrial HVAC experience in manufacturing, processing, or heavy commercial environments
• Hands-on experience with steam systems, boilers, and condensate systems
• Strong troubleshooting skills with RTUs, makeup air units, and exhaust/ventilation systems
• Working knowledge of chilled water and hot water systems (basic to intermediate level)
• Experience with VFDs, motor controls, and building automation systems (BAS)
• Familiarity with compressed air systems and air dryers
• EPA 608 Certification (Universal preferred)
• Ability to diagnose and resolve airflow, temperature, humidity, and steam-related issues in large-scale facilities
• Understanding of steam components such as traps, PRVs, and heat exchangers
• Comfortable working at heights and using lifts or man-lifts
• Strong understanding of industrial safety practices, especially around high-pressure steam systems
