The CNC Operator will be responsible for setting up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. Includes precision instrument makers who fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical instruments. May also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. Responsibilities:Reads and understands setup sheet, specifications and drawings to determine setup procedures, machining sequence and dimensions of finished work piece. Attaches fixtures to machine and position and secures work piece in fixture according to setup instructions. Selects and installs proper cutting tools. Loads programs in machine control unit or enters commands to retrieve machine instructions from database.
