Job Description Job Description Are we the road to your future?We are currently searching for an experienced Senior Roadway Engineer to support our Mid Atlantic Region located in Springfield or Virginia Beach, VA.To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, a BS degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.What you'll be doing:Leading or assisting in the development of project designs and directing engineers and designers to successfully execute and deliver project work, while implementing client focused strategiesDeveloping and checking engineering estimates, construction specifications, and coordinating with subconsultantsApplying established and well-defined engineering techniques, procedures, policies, or standardsPreparing reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and designs for projectsWorking in a team environment team to deliver a range of transportation and civil design projects and participating in business development efforts and meetings with clients.Participating in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies. Coordinating work to ensure best practices with all team membersIdentify and analyze problems using reasoning to arrive at conclusionsApply standard practices and techniques to accomplish work assignmentsUnderstand and adhere to assigned phase and task schedules and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of projectAdhere to company standards for quality assurance and quality control as defined in the quality manualWhat you need to have:BS degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university8 – 15+ years relevant experience in roadway designMust have proven skills in meeting DOT expectations, schedules, and budgetsWritten and communication skillsVDOT experience is preferred but not requiredPE preferredExperienced in DOT design methods, plan preparation, standards, and specificationsProficient with MicroStation and OpenRoads DesignerStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
