We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Paralegal Program Director for Distance Education to lead our online legal studies program. This pivotal role involves developing, managing, and expanding our remote paralegal training initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for legal education, exceptional organizational skills, and a strong background in diverse legal areas to empower students for successful careers in law. 1. Program Leadership & Faculty Oversight a. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the program, ensuring program quality, instructional effectiveness, and operational efficiency. b. Train, onboard, evaluate, and support instructors and faculty staff within the program. c. Lead the efforts to recruit new Instructors within the department such as conducting and scheduling interviews and teaching demonstrations. d. Conduct formal and informal classroom and lab observations and provide performance feedback and coaching. e. Complete and conduct annual performance evaluations for all Instructors within the program. f. Facilitate regular department meetings, including huddles, curriculum discussions, and strategic planning. g. Conduct regular coach 1X1 meetings with Faculty within the department to focus on professional growth and development, program initiatives, overcoming challenges and difficult situations, and overall program excellence. h. Model and instill MTI | DTC's Core Values across the department to foster a positive and professional culture. i. Serve as the primary point of contact for all program-related concerns. j. Collaborate with campus leadership to address and solve student and faculty performance issues and concerns in a timely manner. 2. Curriculum & Compliance a. Ensure adherence to the approved MTI | DTC curriculum and instructional standards across all faculty members. b. Lead program curriculum development and revisions, aligning with industry standards, certification/licensure requirements, and accrediting body guidelines. c. Manage all program-related compliance efforts including record-keeping, student tracking, instructional documentation, monthly and annual reporting, and accreditation audits. This includes programmatic compliance where applicable (HVAC Excellence, CAAHEP, State Boards of Cosmetology, etc.). d. Coordinate and lead Program Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings, including board member recruitment, meeting agendas, and feedback implementation. 3. Student Outcomes & Support a. Monitor and report on student retention rates, certification/licensure pass rates, and job placement rates to ensure a minimum benchmark of 70% is met in each category with a goal of 80%. b. When applicable, serve as or assist the Placement & Externship Coordinator. c. Collaborate with campus leaders to support students through academic advising, tutoring initiatives, career preparation, and SOS (Save Our Students) meetings. d. Support students with escalated academic or behavioral concerns through advisory sessions and intervention planning. e. Serve as a substitute instructor when necessary to ensure instructional continuity. 4. Resource Management a. Oversee scheduling of classes, instructor assignments, and student-to-instructor ratios including the projection of program schedules based on program population and faculty support. b. Ensure sufficient supplies, materials, and lab equipment are available and maintained for instruction. c. Approve or facilitate supply orders in collaboration with campus administration. 5. Campus & Community Engagement a. Represent the program at open houses, graduations, orientation events, job fairs, and campus-wide initiatives. b. Actively participate in leadership meetings, accreditation preparation, and institutional review processes. c. Maintain membership in a professional organization and attend relevant conferences to remain current in the field. 6. Professional Development a. Promote a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging faculty participation in workshops, continued education, and cross-campus collaboration. b. Maintain required CEUs and licensure/certification and model professional development for department faculty. c. Display a commitment to professional development by attending/participating in/completing a minimum of 2 professional development activities per year outside of what's minimally required by the organization. 7. Other Duties as Assigned a. As part of the Instructor role, employees may be asked to perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed to support the overall success of the department or organization. Pride Qualifications: In addition to all qualifications of the Instructor, Instructor II position, and Senior Instructor, the Program Director will bring: Education & Experience * Must have a minimum of 4 years' experience working with or as a paralegal; if a licensed attorney, must have experience supervising or working with paralegals.
* Minimum of an Associates degree.
* Must be a current or former practicing Paralegal or Attorney.
* If licensed as an attorney, must be in good standing with applicable state bar.
* Prior teaching experience in a postsecondary paralegal education.
* Must demonstrate professional integrity and ethical conduct consistent with legal profession standards.
* Must demonstrate commitment to paralegal education and the effective utilization of paralegals in the legal profession.
* Must demonstrate ongoing engagement in paralegal education and professional development, including participation in relevant conferences or professional organizations.
* Must demonstrate knowledge of the paralegal profession, including roles, supervision, employment settings, and current trends.
* For online programs, prior teaching experience in a distance education environment greatly preferred.
* Minimum 6 months in Senior Instructor role with demonstrated excellence in leadership, instruction, and program and campus-wide contributions.
* This requirement may be waived should the organization have an immediate need to fill the position or when hiring an external candidate.
* Prior experience in faculty leadership or academic coordination preferred
* Demonstrated success in faculty supervision, instructional coaching, and program development. Skills & Competencies: * Strong leadership and team-building skills.
* Proficiency in curriculum oversight, instructional compliance, and performance evaluation.
* Exceptional time management, organization, and communication abilities.
* Competency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Power Point
* Prior experience with Student Information System (Campus Nexus), and LMS (Canvas, LAB, etc.) preferred.
* Must have prior experience with legal databases (Westlaw, LexisNexis, etc.)
* Must be able to teach asynchronous as well as fully synchronous classes per ABA requirements.
* Demonstrated ability to build a student-centered and faculty-supportive culture. Working Conditions: For campus-based programs: * Work environment includes a typical classroom setting and industry appropriate laboratory/clinic/salon setting.
* Minimal travel and additional hours worked may be required for training purposes when needed.
* Work hours and schedule expectations as outlined in the official job offer and agreed upon terms
* Appropriate use of industry standard PPE and OSHA safety protocol.
* Instructors may be exposed to potential job hazards, unusual conditions, or outdoor work.
* Most instructing takes place in a climate-controlled environment, however, for select programs instructors will be subject to a non-climate controlled environment for the majority of the day. Compensation & Benefits: * Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000
